Sharon Dorsey

Sharon Dorsey is currently a Masters student at Virginia Tech pursuing a degree in Fish & Wildlife Conservation. Her research involves monitoring an endangered shorebird species and understanding their nesting habitat preferences. Sharon has previously worked in the environmental education and natural resources management fields as well and aspires to work for the federal government as a wildlife refuge biologist or outreach coordinator. As a native of Baltimore, MD she works for everyone to foster a connection with nature and engage with it in whatever capacity feels right to them. She is also a huge advocate for increasing representation of Black community members in environmental careers and enjoys mentoring students!
